The Gartrell Difference

From our people to our process, we do GIS a little differently at The Gartrell Group. We’re geospatial builders, crafters, and guides. We’re not defined by a technology, type of client, or single product niche. GIS is increasingly a system of systems. We apply more than 20 years of learned experience to help our customers find best-fit solutions and achieve new levels of simplicity, stability, and efficiency in their mapping systems and workflows.

Here’s how Gartrell Group stands apart

Nimble, Inventive, Committed

Curiosity and a drive to understand our client’s needs are our guiding stars as we create solutions tailored to their specific requirements and workflows. We’re most satisfied when we witness customers enjoy meaningful advances in their capabilities using solutions we have adapted together.

Focused on Quality

Gartrell is the first in GIS to offer dedicated quality assurance (QA) solutions. We conduct rigorous QA testing on everything we deliver to clients, and also have a dedicated team for QA capable of performing all types of testing.

Esri Partnership

Gartrell has been an Esri partner for 20 years. We leverage our extensive work with Esri technology, our staff’s specialized training, and our close working rapport with dozens of Esri team members for the direct benefit of our customers.

Woman-Owned

We’re a certified woman-owned small business that takes care to build relationships through genuine interest in client needs and strong communication.

QA Services

As the first in GIS to offer dedicated quality assurance solutions, we comprise a team dedicated to performing all types of testing. With a combined 30 years of testing experience across multiple industries, we have the background to build a QA department from the ground up. Already have QA? We can also plug into your existing team and provide improvements and adoption of appropriate test methodologies, tools, and processes to speed up your time-to-market.

We use a 3-step process to identify the best QA strategy:

  1. Detection – We begin with a discovery phase that includes interviews, analysis of current processes, and identification of key points where our services would fit.

  2. Goal Definition – We decide on the QA practices to be introduced, testing tools that make sense, and an overall strategic plan.

  3. Implementation – We implement our QA strategy, work with any existing QA or engineering teams to adopt the defined test strategy, and provide post implementation support.

Renovated Strategies for the Next Phase of GIS PDX

We have recently completed two related strategy engagements for the GIS Team at the Port of Portland. This is an exciting time at the Port, which has very recently unveiled the stunning outcome of a $2B+, capacity-doubling renovation that stands out as the world's largest mass timber project. It’s an exciting time for GIS at the Port, too, which is being ‘called into the enterprise’ to offer next-generation capabilities to an expanding client base and a growing technology portfolio that demands geo-integration.
